Syria is Calling

We are living in extraordinary times where people in adverse plight need our extraordinary support
– Aleppo is a place where children have stopped crying.
– Syrians are living in a constant state of hunger.
– Syrians are now exposed in harsh winter cold.
Please come support the effort to raise funds. Humanity should not need pleading.

This event is coordinated by NWICC and sponsored by several organizations in the Twin Cities.
The beneficiary of this fundraiser is SAMS, the Syrian American Medical Sociaty. Founded in 1998, the Syrian American Medical Society represents thousands of healthcare professionals in the United States and beyond. SAMS seeks to provide its members with networking, educational, cultural, and professional services. SAMS offers a wide spectrum of activities, including national and international conferences, medical missions, and other volunteering opportunities.
Dr. Aref Alkali and Nurse Practitioner Lindsey Smith (both active at SAMS) will be providing an update on the work of SAMS. Sheikh Hisham Hassan and Dr. Tamim Saidi will be contributing. A number of the NWICC youth will also participate and other members of the community are contributing to a silent auction taking place in support of this cause.
Middle Eastern food will be served from Filfila and Big Marina as well as Indian/Pakistani food will be catered for the dinner.
